Writing

For my high school senior research paper, I decided to look into how the arch-types of the movie, Encanto affect each other and the cycle of generational trauma. I also touched upon how the conflict teaches both generations that in order to fix their problems, they need to work together to break down their walls and rebuild, instead of ignoring it.

I wrote this script for college applications with the prompt, "someone does anything they can to kill a spider". The admissions committee told me they were very impressed with the new perspective I brought to the film. They said they had never seen anything like it before. I'm very proud of this script and hope to improve my writing skills with new perspectives.

For college applications, I had to write a one page personal statement. I wrote about my film journey and how I ended up where I was at the time of writing it.

I wrote this essay for my college applications. I highlighted a summer program I attended that strengthened my love for film and my confidence in myself. I talk about how it inspired my to push my limits and learn how to live on my own. 

I wrote this essay for my english class. I love Star Wars and I had just started learning more about feminism, so I decided to combine the topics. This essay really helped spark a love in me for advocating for whats right and learn more about the history of women in film.

This is a short story about my family when they came from Cuba and made their lives in Miami. The story is lead by a cook book my grandmother owned that was eventually passed down to my mother.
